Mental health and substance use treatment organizations, professionals, and advocates play a vital role in our community. To show our appreciation for their dedication and selfless efforts, we are hosting the fourth annual Mental Health Matters Awards.

We’re excited to have local storyteller Amyre Makupson join us to honor local mental health heroes in the following categories:

  • Advocate Champion: An organization or individual who advocates for individuals living with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or substance use diagnosis.
  • Caregiver Champion: A caregiver is someone who provides care to a MCCMH person served.
  • Provider Champion: A mental health or substance use provider within the MCCMH system who goes above and beyond in delivering services.
  • Community Partner Champion: An organization that partners with MCCMH to support and advocate for people served.
  • Self-Advocate Champion: An individual who is currently receiving or has received services from within the MCCMH system and advocates for themselves or others.

Nominations are now closed. The 2026 Mental Health Matters Awards winners will be announced this May.

The Mental Health Matters Awards were created to celebrate those in our community who made a significant impact on mental health awareness and support. We believe that by recognizing these champions, we can inspire hope and encourage others to seek support and become involved.
