What is Liberties Inc.? 

Liberties Inc. is a peer‑run drop‑in center where team members share lived experiences similar to those of the people they support. It provides a safe place for individuals with mental health conditions, disabilities, or substance use challenges. 

At Liberties, members can find support, connect with community resources, make friends, and participate in groups and daily activities. It is an environment where everyone feels valued and can grow in self‑worth, dignity, and respect. 

Programs and Activities

Liberties offers free services to help members thrive, such as: 

  • Lunch served daily 
  • Field trips 
  • Food and hygiene pantry 
  • Library and computer access 
  • Substance use and grief support meetings 
  • Help with Social Security benefits 
  • Access to our calming Zen Room 
  • Assistance connecting with local resources 
  • Meditation on Mondays and Thursdays 
  • Karaoke, dinner, and bingo on Friday 
  • Free haircuts twice a month   
  • Monthly visits from community organizations 

How to Join

To join Liberties, you need to live in Macomb County, be 18 or older, and have a mental health diagnosis. You can fill out the membership form on the Liberties’ website or call 586‑777‑8094 to learn more.
